Akanksha has an established credit background having worked for over 12 years in different roles ranging from credit ratings to distressed investing. She has significant experience in due diligence, financial analysis, business risk assessment of corporates with a focus on complex structures and distressed balance sheets. Having participated in corporate restructurings and workouts as part of the investment process, she has gained exposure to a wide range of jurisdictions in Asia.
Prior to joining Perun, Akanksha was responsible for secondary loan trading at an independent fixed income brokerage house in Hong Kong. She has also worked in Singapore where she co-headed the research team at a leading Asian distressed debt fund, and in India at GE Capital as a senior risk manager where she was responsible for GE’s lending portfolio for North India.

Undertook valuation of the debt of a distressed plantation company, based on its restructuring and recapitalization plan.
Undertook valuation of a BVI holding company in a shareholder dispute litigation, where the assets of the holding company included serviced apartments, property management services and a real estate portfolio.
Pre-trial litigation consulting support for an internet security company.
Originated, structured and executed debt investments in India through offshore entities. Deals included an equity-backed loan to a sponsor and a receivable backed working capital facility to an auto-component manufacturer.
Invested in a senior secured and mezzanine tranche acquisition facility for a coal mining company in Indonesia.
Worked on a debt restructuring transaction, to refinance the debt from the public-sector banks, for a tire cord manufacturing company in Thailand.
Worked on NPL portfolios in Thailand and Philippines; the face value of debt was approximately US$415million.
Involved in consulting, valuation and development strategy projects for real estate companies.
Undertook a comprehensive ranking and benchmarking study for the state electricity boards in India based on their operational, financial and management performance.
Analysed new credit proposals and executed loans to corporates across diversified industries in India.
Acquired and actively managed the turnaround of the operations of an unprofitable restaurant venture in Hong Kong.
