Dick Tang

Dick Tang is a Director at Perun Consultants.
Dick has over 16 years of experience in restructuring, insolvency and receivership work. He started his career under the supervision of the past INSOL President in Hong Kong, before joining one of the Big Four accounting firms. He has successfully assisted creditors to recover and realise assets in Hong Kong, Mainland China, the United States, and other Asian and European countries, and is able to preserve the value of distressed or insolvent entities for creditors. Dick is also highly experienced in complex investigations involving directors and wrongdoers, taking necessary legal actions against them to maximise returns for creditors.
During his career, Dick also restructured a number of listed companies in Hong Kong and assisted debtors and creditors to formulate and implement quick and viable restructuring plans.
Representative engagements
Acted as the engagement leader in a liquidation of large Chinese liquor distributor in Hong Kong which engaged in realising assets, investigating on directors’ misconduct and commencing appropriate legal action against them.
Acted as the engagement leader in a BVI company liquidation which involved disposing of substantial shareholding in a listed company in Hong Kong and negotiating with creditors to formulate a holistic restructuring solution for the listed company.
Acted as the engagement leader for a restructuring provisional liquidation of a real estate developer in Hong Kong which involved formulating the restructuring plan, communicating with creditors and executing the restructuring support agreement.
Acted as the engagement leader in a receivership engagement which involved managing and disposing of over 35 units of old properties in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
Acted as the engagement leader in an informal workout for a listed company in Hong Kong which involved formulating a viable debt restructuring plan, communicating the plan to the creditors, implementing the sanctioned plan via the scheme of arrangement in Hong Kong.
Acted as the engagement leader in a creditor voluntary liquidation for a unique component maker which involved recovering assets in Japan, disposing of a factory in Hong Kong and communicating with Japanese debtors and creditors.
Acted as the engagement leader in numerous Court appointed administrator engagements which were nominated by the SFC to distribute funds to investors and victims under the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
Acted as the engagement leader in an administrator engagement pursuant to the scheme of arrangement which involved distributing cash and shares in consideration to the scheme creditors.
